Peyton Manning had just 5 incompletions as the Denver Broncos used a dominant first half to defeat the Oakland Raiders 37-21 to move to 3-0 on the season, while the Raiders fell to 1-2.
The Broncos led 27-7 after the first half, with Peyton completing 21 of 24 passes (87.5%) for 264 yards, 3 touchdowns, and a near-perfect 152.1 rating. He didn’t throw a 2nd half touchdown, but he still set the record for the most touchdown passes through 3 games with 12, breaking the old mark set by Tom Brady.
Terrell Pryor held his own for Oakland finishing with a 112.1 rating, but there was no beating Peyton Manning on this night.
Chris Clark filled the void left by Ryan Clady, and the Broncos ran for 164 yards as a team. Eric Decker led Denver with 8 catches for 133 yards with a touchdown. Wes Welker and Julius Thomas also had touchdowns for Denver.
Overall, this wasn’t a very fair fight as the Broncos offense picked on the Raiders defense all night. Up next for Denver is a match-up with the Eagles at home next Sunday, while the Raiders welcome an 0-3 Redskins team to Oakland.
