Tom Brady’s incredible streak of throwing a touchdown pass in 52 consecutive games, the 2nd longest streak in NFL history is officially over as the Cincinnati Bengals held Brady and the Pats out of the end-zone winning 13-6.
The last time Brady didn’t throw a touchdown pass was in week 17 of the 2009 season meaning he threw a touchdown in every single game for 3 straight seasons. The last time the Patriots didn’t score a touchdown was week 2 of the 2009 season in a 16-9 loss to the Jets.
It was a rough day from the start for Brady, even though he had Danny Amendola back in the fold for the first time since week one.
On the day, Brady completed just 18 of 38 pass attempts for 197 yards and was intercepted with 16 seconds left by Adam Jones at the Bengals 4-yard line. The Bengals have not allowed a 300-yard passer since week 3 of last season.
On the Pats last drive, the rains came in an emphatic way which really hampered Brady’s ability to throw the football.
The Patriots record now drops to 4-1, but New England still sits atop the AFC East.
