Dwight Howard, aka the most clueless player in the NBA is reportedly upset that the Orland Magic have given away his former number 12 to current small forward Tobias Harris, a 2011 first round pick of the Bobcats.
It’s understandable for a player that actually won something to be upset about something like this, but what did Howard win or Orland?? That’s right, he won absolutely nothing and he feels that the Magic should never give another player the number 12 and his jersey should be raised to the rafters at Amway Center?
“I just think that despite whatever happened, there was a lot of things that I did and that we did as a team, and that number was special down there. And I was a little bit upset about that,” Howard said today.
Sure Howard took the Magic to the NBA Finals in 2008, sure he was a major part in making Orlando a legitimate contender in the Eastern Conference, and there may have been something special going on there; So special that Howard did all he could for 9 months to force his way out of Orlando until he was finally traded to the Lakers in what became known as the “Dwightmare”.
Howard is lucky that the Magic didn’t immediately give his #12 away prior to last season as what happens a lot of times a team has to replace a star player who leaves town. The New Jersey Devils replaced Zach Parise’s number 9 right away, and the Jets did the same for Darrelle Revis.
But it’s not ok for the Magic to do the same.
On a positive note for Dwight, he finally made it 100 percent clear that all he’s focusing on right now is winning in Houston. “All I’ve got to do is win now, and I’m in the right situation,” Howard said.
Dwight makes his Rockets debut exactly 2 weeks from today when Houston hosts the Bobcats.
