Whether Joe Johnson is worth $119 million dollars is certainly debatable. But what’s not debatable is how supremely clutch he’s been during his time in Brooklyn.
Johnson hit his 3rd game winning buzzer beater in last night’s game against the Suns. Off a Channing Frye missed three with 7 seconds left, Johnson got the rebound, went coast to coast, and hit a floater that went in as time expired.
The win snapped Brooklyn’s 3-game losing streak and was the teams first win since November 5th. Johnson struggled throughout the game finishing 6/19, but scored 5 of the Nets last 10 points.
Brook Lopez led the team with 27 points, and Kevin Garnett hauled in a season high 14 rebounds.
Deron Williams had to leave the game in the first quarter with a sprained ankle. X-rays were negative and Williams left the arena without crutches. It’s unclear how much time he will miss, if he misses any time at all.
Brooklyn could certainly use him tonight when the Nets take on the Clippers at the Staples Center.
