He replaces the recently released Santonio Holmes, and serves as a capable number 2 receiver. The team is still in need of a true number 1.
Decker had an outstanding season with the Broncos in 2013. He caught 87 passes for 1,288 yards and 11 touchdowns. In the Super Bowl however, Decker was limited to just one catch for 6 yards.
Decker’s stats the past 2-years have a lot to do with the fact Peyton Manning was his quarterback. If you compare his Peyton years with Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow, they’re incomparable.
Decker had 44 receptions and 8 touchdowns in 2011. Expect him to put up similar numbers with the Jets and Geno Smith.
