With the 7th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Mike Evans, the wide receiver from Texas A&M.
Evans is listed at 6’5, 231 pounds. In college at Texas A&M, he and Johnny Manziel formed one of the deadliest quarterback, wide-receiver combinations in the country.
Last season, Evans caught 69 passes for 1,394 yards and 12 touchdowns. Behind Sammy Watkins, Evans is viewed as the 2nd best receiver in this class.
As a former high school basketball star, Evans has the athletic ability to be an elite red-zone threat, and a guy that can coach anything thrown in his general vicinity.
His biggest weakness is his speed. It is unclear is Evans has the ability to break away from defenders, and he’s not the best route runner.
